Sadiya - Zubeen Garg

    2. Sadiya

Who could sit in Sadiya's arms
And not be moved to tears?
      Heart pressed softly against heart,
      Listening to the river remember.

Come, let me tell once again
      Of a love left unfinished—
The tale of Rangili and Rongdoi,
Half-written upon the winds of time.

Along the banks of the mighty Luit,
Where Sadiya gathers the echoes of ages,
      Time itself inscribed their names
Upon the fading pages of the earth.

Rongdoi was a son of the river,
A fisherman beneath the open sky.
      And secretly he gave away
The whole treasure of his heart
      To Rangili.

Yet the world that feared their union
Built walls where there should have been paths,
And the laws of men proved stronger
Than the wishes of two souls.

      The fire claimed Rongdoi,
      The river carried the sorrow,
      And Rangili was left behind,
Holding a love that had nowhere to go.

Who could sit in Sadiya's arms
And not be moved to tears?

Turn the yellowed pages of history,
      And there, among forgotten years,
      You will find their names—
      Not as conquerors,
      Not as kings,
      But as two hearts
      That dared to love.

      Perhaps the heavens were kinder
      Than the world below.
Perhaps beyond the reach of time,
      Their separated paths became one.

      Perhaps beneath celestial rivers,
      Where no barriers remain,
      Rangili and Rongdoi
Walk hand in hand at last.

Come, let us go to Sadiya.
Let us stand where memory still breathes.
Let us listen to the Luit,
For the river has not forgotten.

      It still carries their story
      Through moonlight and monsoon,
      Through silence and song.

      And even now,
      If you listen carefully,
You may hear the unfinished love
      Of Rangili and Rongdoi
      Flowing forever
      With the river.
